ACCESS. Intelligentsia’s core audience consists of discriminating collectors and connoisseurs who value creative endeavors that elevate culture and every day sensory experiences. EXPOSURE. Member profiles on the Atelier site feature rich photography, custom and audiovisual content. Members are further amplified across Intelligentsia Journal digital platforms with special features in our Vanguard section and/or via editorial consideration for other relevant sections.
ENDORSEMENT. Intelligentsia advisors, curators and editors are authorities in their respective fields. Each Member receives a written statement included on their profile page endorsing it as a Vanguard at the forefront of their creative discipline. Members in turn can use these materials as powerful tools to promote themselves or their brand. Robust digital, e-mail, and social campaigns establish L’Artisan Atelier as the authoritative directory where collectors, connoissuers and businesses can source Vanguards across the creative industries.

Deftly curated by Intelligentsia advisors, curators and editors, it is accessible through the Atelier link on the Intelligentsia Group website, where complementary lines of business include Intelligentsia Journal and Intelligentsia Catalyst. What is included on L’Artisan Member profile page?
Your profile is supplied with a brief bio or brand description, space for at least 3 or more images, an editorial endorsement, and links to any relevant editorial or multi-media content about your work.Who makes up L’Artisan Atelier Membership?
L’Artisan Atelier members are exceptionally talented Vanguards re-imagining their disciplines by setting forth new concepts, styles and techniques that disrupt conventional paradigms. L’Artisan Vanguards typically fall into one of three categories:- Foreunners (aka: Groundbreakers/Pioneers/Old Masters) - pioneering talent that have broken molds and set standards by which others in their discipline are measured.
- Emerging (aka: Rising Stars/Ones to Watch/New Masters) - notable talent below the radar or not widely known outside the community of their discipline, but on the rise. They offer new perspectives worthy of our Vanguard Watch List.
- Cohort - Exceptional students incubating in educational/apprenticeship programs. They offer a first look worthy of our Vanguard Watch List.
What categories/creative disciplines are included in L’Artisan Atelier?
L’Artisan members hail from various sectors of the creative industries, and particularly those that produce highly collectible passion assets, such as: art, design, jewels, etc.Will more categories/creative disciplines be added in the future?
Absolutely! Though Inaugural members are predominantly in the art and design sectors, as more artisans and brands accept our invitation and/or are approved by our curatorial team, we will include additional categories in our L’Artisan portfolio.How many members are in L’Artisan Atelier?
We are highly selective and invitations for the launch were extended to only 10 artisans and brands. We will release a limited number of invitations on a rolling basis, quarterly throughout the year.What is the estimated traffic to L’Artisan Atelier?
L’Artisan Atelier is a new endeavor still in the launch stage, so we cannot estimate traffic at this time. However, we will share relevant information with Members as we grow this new initiative, as more members join, and as we deploy new features. In the meantime, we will provide Members with periodic updates on their profile page analytics.How are new members identified and selected?
Only artisans and brands researched by the Intelligentsia Catalyst or Atelier advisory team, or who are covered by Intelligentsia Journal editors are invited. A limited number of invitations are extended on a rolling basis throughout the year to artisans/brands pre-selected by Intelligentsia Group. Membership in L’Artisan Atelier is by invitation only. If approved, an annual commitment is required for inclusion on the platform.What kind of work should I submit for consideration to become a member?
Our audience is highly discerning of craftsmanship, authenticity and provenance. Your work should be something with a strong aesthetic or design narrative that would resonate with discriminating collectors and connoissuers. Examples of preferable items include:- An item not yet launched (ideally, L’Artisan would have a 24hr exclusivity period to promote)
- Exclusive design or colorway of an item (pending production lead time or availability)
- The most unique, one-of-a-kind, or special/limited edition item in your collection
- A rare or archival piece, or one made of rare or special materials
- Items crafted using lost, old-world or technologically advanced techniques
- Made to order pieces
- Custom collaboration items (pending bandwidth and lead time)
Is there a membership fee?
No. There is no membership fee.How is Intelligentsia Atelier compensated if you don’t charge a membership fee?
Our compensation structure is unique to each Member but is typically a form of commission derived from sales or leads.I’m an artist/artisan already represented by a gallery/agent, can I still be a member of L’Artisan Atelier? Can we still collaborate?
Yes, of course. We run a non-tradition gallery model in that we do not “represent” the artists/artisans and brands on our platform. However, because our mission is to support artistic Vanguards, we actively promote them in various ways on our platform and they become part of our Atelier portfolio. Towards that end, we are happy to align with and/or collaborate with your gallery or agent, including by serving as their foreign liaison or primary point of contact for the North American, European and Asian markets.
Member Inquiries
As a new L’Artisan Atelier Member, is there an onboarding process?
After accepting the invitation to become a member of L’Artisan Atelier, we will work directly with you/your team to hand-select the item(s) from your collection that we believe will perform best on the platform. Following that, we’ll develop a content plan that gives you/your brand exposure across our digital platforms. —Content & Promotion—How will my item(s) be promoted?
All L’Artisan Members receive promotion across Intelligentsia’s platforms in the following ways:- ≥1x featured placement on your L’Artisan Atelier profile, plus 4 or more images
- ≥1x featured insert on L'Artisan Member page
- 1x featured placement in Intelligentsia Journal’s newsletter
- 1x organic story and in-feed carousel post on IJ’s Instagram, including multiple slides with product links, and link in bio to product page
- Additional Bespoke Promo Assets: For a fee, Member may expand this promotional package to include: In-Depth feature stories, IGTV takeovers/studio visits, custom photography and/or video assets, additional placements across Intelligentsia’s social channels
How long will my product be featured on the L’Artisan Atelier site?
There is no termination date for items featured on our platform (unless for any reason the item becomes no longer available). Ideally, new items are teased on Intelligentsia Journal social media approximately 2-3 days ahead of release and launch in L’Artisan Atelier. On its designated launch day, the item will be featured on the Journal web platform (for e.g. in the “Covet” section) and promoted for 24 hours across the Journal’s Instagram channel. After the initial 24 hour period, the item will remain in the featured spot on your profile page until the next item is dropped.Can I feature more than one item on L’Artisan Atelier?
Absolutely! During your initial consultation with the Atelier team, we discuss and determine how best to execute multiple items (for e.g., multiple product launches, or spread out over a series of weeks/months timed to your brand initiatives, brick-and-mortar exhibition/release, etc.).How long is the exclusivity period if my product does not sell the day it’s featured?
Items are typically featured for 24-hours, but the content lives on the site indefinitely so long as it remains available.What assets do I need to supply to Intelligentsia for my product feature?
If you choose Additional Bespoke Promo Assets, we may require any of the following materials and our team will communicate a deadline by which to provide them:- Responses to an in-take form detailing qualitative and quantitative facts
- PR/press materials about the item
- Images for the site and social including: Photos: 1200 PX or above, 2-3 images on a white background, 2-3 lifestyle images; Video: :60-seconds max length, editorial approval required
I don’t think my imagery fits Intelligentsia’s aesthetics, what can we do about this?
We are happy to share our basic style guide and our general aesthetic specifications for reference upon completion of the Member agreement, giving you/your team time to develop these assets. Alternatively, for a fee, our team can shoot photo/video assets on your behalf.I want Intelligentsia to shoot my item (photo/video), how much will it cost to do that?
Intelligentsia is a full service advisory company that can offer a wide range of content production capabilities, priced upon request.Who owns the creative assets that were created to promote my product?
Any custom assets that Intelligentsia creates to promote your item will be shared with you/your team for full ownership and use across your channels.I want to launch a new product with Intelligentsia Atelier in a collaborative capacity, are you open to an initiative like this?
Yes, of course! Please let us know how you’d like to work together on a custom collaboration with Intelligentsia Atelier.I want to do a longer form feature story surrounding the item/brand. How can we do more?
Some of our longer form content offerings for Intelligentsia Journal include In-Depth Features, Advertorials, Studio Visits and more that are available at an incremental cost. Depending on what you’re looking for, our team can outline various options and provide a quote.I don’t want to share the L’Artisan Atelier initiative on my social channels, can we still work together?
We kindly request that all Members of L’Artisan Atelier promote their membership status on their social channels. We can discuss what options/channels make the most sense depending on your online presence. —Stats/Impressions—How many inquiries/impressions per item do you expect to receive from the time an item is launched, until it sells?
We do not guarantee sales, inquiries, or a set number of impressions to your profile or product page. L’Artisan Atelier was created to showcase exclusive, exceptional, and must-have items through an elevated content treatment unlike traditional e-commerce platforms.How long will it take to sell my item(s); What are the chances of it selling out?
We do not guarantee any sales and therefore cannot gauge the chances of an item selling out.Will any metrics be provided to track traffic to my page?

However, upon request, we will provide Members with periodic updates on their profile page analytics. —Purchasing & Fulfillment—How are orders fulfilled? Will consumers have the ability to purchase my item directly via the L’Artisan platform?
Presently, consumers have the option to inquire about purchase via a link that goes directly to the Atelier team and we communicate with you to help fulfill, process and ship the order.Can consumer be redirected to my own e-commerce site to purchase directly from there?

Yes, we’re happy to add any appropriate a disclaimer so that your fulfillment policy is clear to the customer.I accept returns, but can I pay the commission to L’Artisan Atelier after my return policy window?
Unfortunately no. A great deal of Member Services and benefits are provided at no charge. The commission payable to L’Artisan Atelier is one of the few ways we are compensated for these efforts.I only ship my within my home country, can we refrain from receiving international orders?
We can add a disclaimer to your page that the item is only available for shipping within particular countries or regions. —Member Payments—What are the Member’s payment terms to L’Artisan?
Payment terms will vary depending on what has been agreed with our team, but generally the mutually agreed commission to L’Artisan is payable from the completed sale (or within net-30 days from the purchase date). In addition to providing discriminating collectors and connoisseurs a content driven resource to search and discover exceptional artisans and brands, L’Artisan Atelier was created to provide those same exceptional artisans and brands with an additional platform through which to secure potential new customers/audiences. As it is primarily a content platform, we view any sales generated as an added bonus since we do not guarantee sales via your free membership with complementary Services, therefore we do not issue refunds.
